Your files, not a lock-in
Embroidery Breeze saves a design file you can keep and share. It exports a stitch file the machine sews. Those are different on purpose.
.breeze: the design
This is the hoop: shapes, lettering, bought files sitting on the page, fabric, sew order. Open the same file on Mac, Windows, iPhone, iPad, or Android. Change the words next week. Resize a shape and the stitches rewrite.
A .breeze file is a zip. Inside: project.json (the objects), optional artwork, a full-size preview, and a thumbnail. Unzip it in Finder or Explorer. The JSON is ordinary text.
.breezefont: a font you digitized
Letters you built in the font digitizer, plus the facts needed to type with them: advance, baseline, kerning. Someone else can open it and type. They do not need the original computer font.
A .breezefont file is a zip of font.json plus preview.png and thumb.png, the same idea as a .breeze file. The source TTF is not packed in. That keeps the file portable and respects the font's license.
PES, DST, JEF, EXP, VP3, XXX: what the machine sews
These are stitch lists: where the needle goes. Export them to sew. Import them onto a hoop to recolor, move, or add a name. They do not become editable paths. Keep the .breeze file if you will edit later.
No lock-in
We publish the shape of these files so you are not trapped. A .breeze file is not a secret binary. If Embroidery Breeze went away, you would still have JSON in a zip, plus any machine files you exported.
Sharing
You can post a .breeze or .breezefont file to a public profile on this site. That is optional. Designing and sewing do not need an account.
User Guides walk through Save, Export, and Share in the app.
